Current Cats Ready for Adoption

“SID” (or SIDNEY): If you are looking for a handsome, very healthy, sleek black kitty with an “intense” personality, then Sid is the boy for you! After living the first years of his life as a street cat, Sid was finally rescued in December of last year (2024). He came to HHCS because his rescuer had no room, and she would have had to put him back on the streets. We estimate his age at about 4 years. He is neutered, tested, and vaccinated.

Sid Ideal Home Recommendations

Sid is unpredictable with other cats. Some he likes, and some he hates. It is probably best that he is not placed in a home with other cats. And we don’t know how he is with dogs. We would also suggest that he doesn’t go to a home with small children. And in general, an experienced cat person would be best...someone who would see beyond Sid’s “tough guy” exterior and understand how much Sid really loves to be loved.

Sid Foster to Adopt Option

He is curious and would love nothing more than to periodically go outdoors. A catio or safe balcony would be perfect for this kitty. Gradually, he is getting better and better at adjusting to indoor life… loves sleeping on the bed! A person who would be interested in playing with Sid would be a great companion for him and vice versa. Like all of our HHCS cats, Sid is available as a “foster-to-adopt” kitty. Keep him for a month before making a decision. Sid’s adoption fee is $90.00.

Boomba Health Recovery and Personality

“BOOMBA” is a sweet, gentle boy that came here in 2024 due to his owner needing to relinquish him. He is eight years old, very healthy and has a beautiful sleek coat.

The reason Boombas past owner wanted him gone, was she claimed that he had sprayed for a number of years. After drilling her with many questions I truly believed that his problem was physical, not emotional. (There was nothing about his personality that indicated he was jealous nor did “emotional” or territorial spraying.) I requested that he have an ultrasound done, which she did. There was a minor physical problem which the ultrasound vet believed was due to Boombas poor quality diet for many years. When Boomba came here he was immediately put on a good canned food and dry food was eliminated. He has never sprayed or exhibited any urinary tract problem. .. ..and this has been for over a year.

Boomba is such a sweet, gentle and loving cat and we believe he needs a home where he is not having to share his love with so many other cats! He is fine with other quiet cats, especially females, but we think he would prefer humans to other cats! We do not know how he is with dogs, but Boomba is so even tempered that we think as long as the dog is cat-friendly, everything will be fine. He does not need any special food or prescription diet; just a high quality non-fish canned food.

As with all our HHCS cats being considered for adoption, we offer a “foster to adopt” program. Keep him for a month, and then return if the situation is not going well.

Boombas adoption fee is $100.00

Winter Background and Personality Traits

“WINTER” is perhaps one of the most adoptable cats we have ever had here at HHCS. She came here in 2001 from the streets of LA. A kindly man had been feeding her and also got her spayed. He could not keep her and also wanted her to have a safe indoor cat life, so he relinquished her to us. Upon arrival here, we had her tested and vaccinated; she is current on her vaccines.

Winter Ideal Home and Adoption Details

Winter is quiet and gentle and would love a similar type of home. Nothing makes her happier than sleeping curled up next to us in the bed. She is quite okay with other cats but does not seek them out, as she prefers humans for her company. We do not know how she is with dogs, but she is so even-tempered that as long as the dog is not aggressive and is “cat-friendly,” we think it will work out. Like all our HHCS cats, Winter is available for our foster-to-adopt program. Keep her for a month and see how things go. Winter's adoption fee is $120.00.
